We’re back in Arizona with a garage full of BMW M cars — including three E92 M3s, a seriously clean Avis Blue E36 M3, an E39 M5, and the F87 M2 we built previously. The main event is our 4.5L stroker V8 E92 M3 race car. After some in-car track laps, we spot an oil leak, get it repaired, and then end up driving the full race car on public roads like it’s completely normal. We also compare a few different E92 M3 setups, fit a KW HAS lowering kit and wheels to another E92, take in some proper old-school BMW M car noise, and somehow end up slightly lost in the Arizona desert in a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser. Follow our 5 week journey as we (German Auto Werks) were tasked with building the ultimate BMW M2 track car! We flew over from London, UK to Arizona, USA to carry out some serious work on this car! In this episode we will be covering the starting point of our build, as well as stripping out/ removing the interior, glazing and roof, to get ready for the roll cage, carbon roof install and wiring loom removal to enable us to cut out all unnecessary control units.
Before all of this, this exact car was already seriously quick as a rear-wheel-drive M140i, putting down strong Dragy times and making a name for itself in the UK B58 scene. The plan was then to take it even further with xDrive, a new engine setup, huge power, and turn it into one of the wildest M140is in the country. But the project never got completed. It came to us as someone else’s unfinished build, and we had no real idea what had been done, what had been wired or coded properly, or whether the new engine and drivetrain setup were even going to work. In this episode, we start digging into it properly for the first time. We check over the car, begin working through the non-start issue, and eventually try to start it, run it, and see if it can move under its own power around the car park. A 1000BHP 4WD M140i is a ridiculous thing to exist, but getting one back to life after years of sitting unfinished is a completely different challenge.

Can a £100 BMW X5 with over 230,000 miles survive a proper off-road course? In this video we take one of the cheapest BMW SUVs we could find and throw it straight into deep mud, steep climbs and terrain normally reserved for purpose-built 4x4s. The idea was simple. Start with the X5 completely stock — road tyres, standard wheels and zero preparation — and see how far it could get. Then we fitted a set of Nankang MT-1 mud-terrain tyres to find out whether tyres alone can transform a cheap 4x4. What followed was a lot of mud, a lot of laughter, and a surprisingly capable BMW.

We know that the G80/G82 M3/M4 S58 is amazing! But This BMW G82 M4 track car blew a huge hole in the side of its engine! So we were tasked with sourcing a new S58 to replace the old fire damaged blown block... But we didn't just replace the engine for another stock one! We decided to take the opportunity to upgrade it and installed some upgraded rods from @TomWrigleyPerformance along with upgraded hybrid turbos from TTE turbos, meaning the car is ready for 1200+BHP once tuned! Left outside, covered in moss, flat battery, and slowly being forgotten — today we find out whether it still lives. This one is personal. This neglected BMW M135i belongs to our cameraman Tom. It was heavily modified, loved, and then life got in the way. Rather than risking serious damage with a quick jump start, we tried to wake it up properly — the way you should revive a car that’s been sitting. We uncover the car, get into the boot, sort the battery, prime the engine and finally take it out for its first proper drive in years — and that’s where the real problems begin. A bad misfire shows up, so we start diagnosing, chase the issue, and work through the fix the right way. By the end, Tom gets to drive his BMW for the first time in over two years — and it completely changes how the car feels. Now the question is what happens next... What should we do with Tom’s M135i? Restore it? Track build? OEM+ daily? Something completely different?

We built what we believe is the ultimate BMW E36 track car. Now it’s time to find out what it actually feels like to drive. Starting life as a standard E36 328i automatic, it was stripped to a bare shell, acid dipped, e-coated and rebuilt with inspiration from BMW’s iconic STW Super Touring cars. It now features an S54 engine from the E46 M3, GearMotive sequential gearbox, Karbonius carbon airbox, Moton suspension, AP Racing brakes, full roll cage and slick tyres. In this video, we take a closer look at the build, show you just how clean it is underneath, then Jay finally gets the chance to properly drive it on track and hear that sequential gearbox whine!
